Peri-Peri Sauce

We LOVE a good, homemade peri-peri sauce. Try our easy recipe that keeps in the fridge for up to two weeks! [video width="1000" height="1000" mp4="http://blog.marleyspoon.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Braun_PeriPeri.mp4"][/video] Ingredients: - 2 red onions

  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1/2 cup of African bird's eye chillis (stems recomved)
  • 2 capsicums (seeds removed and roughly chopped)
  • 3 ripe tomatoes (roughly chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Juice and zest of 3 lemons
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 2 bay leaves whole
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

Steps: 1. Combine all ingredients in your Braun MQ9 food processor and mix until finely chopped and saucy. 2. Transfer to pan over medium heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring to prevent from burning. 3. After 20 minutes, check seasoning and adjust to taste. It should be well balanced! 4. Store in airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Avocado and Chocolate Mousse

Avocado and chocolate mousse, say what?! You'd be surprised how tasty this recipe is and we bet your dinner party guests wouldn't notice the difference! [video width="1050" height="1050" mp4="http://blog.marleyspoon.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Braun_ChocolateMousse2.mp4"][/video] Ingredients: - 100g dark chocolate

  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 5 tbsp almond milk
  • 2 1/2 tbsp cocoa sieved
  • 2 large ripe avocados
  • Optional: strawberries and whipped cream

Steps: 1. Break chocolate into small squares and heat in a heatproof bowl in the microwave. 2. Stir in maple syrup, vanilla, almond milk, pinch of salt and cocoa until smooth and creamy. 3. Blend the chocolate mixture with avocado flesh until silky smooth. Divide between small serving glasses and chill in the fridge for 3 hours or overnight.

Avocado Dip and Sweet Potato Flatbread

An easy snack and a great appetiser for any event! [video width="1000" height="1000" mp4="http://blog.marleyspoon.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/AVO_DIP_1.mp4"][/video] Ingredients: - 2 large sweet potatoes

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 1/4 cup plain yoghurt
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Fresh cilantro, cut

Steps: 1. Preheat oven (200C) and line baking tray with baking paper. 2. Cut sweet potatoes into sticks for fries or flat bread as we've done here. 3. Toss with olive oil in large mixing bowl, add spices, garlic, salt and pepper. Toss well. 4. Transfer sweet potatoes to prepared sheet. 5. Bake until brown and crisp on the bottom for about 10-15 minutes and flip until the other side is crisp. 6. Prepare the avocado dip. Add ripe avocado, garlic cloves, yoghurt, fresh lemon juice and blend until smooth texture. Season with salt and pepper and add cilantro on top. 7. Enjoy!

Tomato Soup and Cheese Toasties

Winter is on its way and we love a super simple tomato soup paired with some cheeky cheesy bread bites! [video width="1000" height="1000" mp4="http://blog.marleyspoon.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/TOMSOUP.mp4"][/video] Ingredients: - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1/2 large onion, cut into large wedges
  • 1 can of tomatoes (peeled or crushed)
  • 1 and 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt to taste
  • Block of cheddar cheese
  • Bread of choice (sourdough)
  • Butter

**Steps for soup:**1. Add onion wedges, butter, water, can of tomatoes with juices and salt to a large saucepan. Bring to simmer and cook uncovered for 40 minutes. Stir and add salt as needed. 2. Blend soup with Braun Blender.

**Steps for cheese toasties:**1. Slice two slices of sourdough bread and butter one side of each piece of bread. Grate cheddar cheese. 2. Heat a non-stick pan and place a piece of sourdough bread (buttered side down) on the pan. Sprinkle the desired amount of cheddar cheese on the bread. Place the other piece of bread on top (buttered side up). 3. Flip toastie occasionally until desired.
