In a busy week, sometimes just getting out the door every day is reason enough to celebrate, so things we sometimes see a luxury - like a skin care routine - is often passed over for a pump of sorbolene onto the face before we head out. But the joys of a morning and evening skin care routine are on our radar now more than ever.

Dermatologists and therapists alike agree that the act of looking after your skin is, by nature, soothing and comforting. It’s a simple way to improve confidence, and provides a couple of minutes of quiet in a long, loud day. Whether it be taking the time to cleanse twice a day, investing in a face mask to do weekly to keep the skin hydrated, or exploring the different moisturisers out their for different types of skin - there is a world of skin care self care awaiting you!

It doesn’t need to be expensive either. With access to a plethora of options online, as well as in stores like Sephora, Mecca, Dermalogica and beyond, there are options for every budget - AND amazing homemade recipes that will make you shine bright like a diamond! Here’s a pick-me-up oatmeal face mask that our culinary director, Olivia, swears by.

Oatmeal Facial:

Combine 1/2 cup hot (not boiling) water and 1/3 cup oatmeal After the water and oatmeal have settled for 2-3 minutes, mix in 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1 small egg white. Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
